Here’s to a beautiful 2018 full of hope, happiness and health!
/Photographing Fireworks over the Ice Lagoon
Photographing during an Iceland workshop at the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, I set the camera to 30 seconds to get long trails on the fireworks (although I used between 8-15 seconds as well). I set the lens to 24mm because we were close to the scene and I wanted to get as much coverage of the fireworks without cutting them off. I can crop out any extra space in the sky later, if needed. Tip, take shots early on in the fireworks to get less smoke in the image and a black sky instead of a gray one.
We had a blast even though I screamed as fireworks landed around us! Sometimes things are a bit too close for comfort.
Happy Shooting! Jennifer
